Back to London but with an unexpected twist

The evening flight back to London was smooth and the kids slept OK.  The parents had a few short spells of sleep but certainly not enough to freshen us up. We got through UK Immigration fairly quickly and then collected our bags and rode the tube and bus home without any issues.  Sophie’s left forearm (damaged in a fall on our last trip to the park on the way to Atlanta airport) was still in pain

After resting, doing some unpacking and having something to eat, Sophie and I went to the hospital to assess the damage to her forearm.  It turned out to be a greenstick fracture to her radius.  I felt like a horrible parent, forcing her to fly with a broken arm!  However keep in mind that getting medical treatment in the USA and re-scheduling flights would have been a nightmare and VERY expensive.  We’re lucky Sophie is so tough!  Another kid injury that could have been worse. We were feeling jinxed but at least it wasn’t Malcolm this time.

Here’s the BRAVE patient getting fitted with a temporary plaster cast and a sling.

Of course, Malcolm and Nicole wanted to decorate the cast. Sophie was happy to oblige.
