Three weeks after the cast removal, Malcolm was standing on his 3-wheel scooter inside the house and fell, smashing the ring finger on his right hand and severing a small amount of tissue on the tip of the finger as well. This required a visit to the hospital to suture it and apply a dressing and a further visit for some microsurgery (under anesthesia again!) to repair damage to the fingertip. It was scary at the time and on reflection, we’re not convinced the microsurgery was actually necessary as the damage was cosmetic and did not affect feeling or functioning of the finger. Anyway we managed to get through this event in fine form and once again Malcolm was very brave.
